The Power of Five Series
In this The Power of Five Series, there is a total of five fantasy novels filled with lots of suspense. It can be read as an updated sequel to Horowitz’s Pentagram series. The novels revolve around a supernatural practice where human sacrifice and blood rituals are made for some extraordinary powers. Our protagonist, Matthew Freeman, in the first novel of the series, is a victim of the ritual who is trapped by a cult who wants to sacrifice himself to open a portal. 1] Raven’s Gate (2005)
The novels begin with our protagonist Matthew Freeman, who is a 14-year-old boy who resides in Ipswich along with his aunt, Gwenda Davis, and her boyfriend, Brian Conran He lives with them because he is an orphan. His parents died in a car accident when he was just eight years old.
Matthew Freeman was accused of certain charges, and then he was sent to L.E.A.F., which includes sending a troubled child into the countryside to a foster parent. There he discovers the reality of his parent’s death and find out Omega one, which is an abandoned nuclear power station.

2] Evil Star (2006)
Evil Star is the second book in the series of ‘The Five Gatekeepers,’ which continues with Matt. After the events of Raven’s Gates, Matt visits a new private school where Nexus is paying Matt, unknowingly injuring Gavin Taylor with his powers.
Susan Ashwood and Fabian are the members of the Nexus who ask Matt to help them out to acquire an old diary that would give them access to stop the second from opening.
Matte’s aunt, Gwenda Davis, has fallen under the temptation of dark forces. She kills Brian, her spouse, and is desperate to kill Matt. She steals a petrol tanker and drives it to Matt’s school to complete her task.

3] Nightrise (2007)
Nightrise is the third in the series of ‘The Five GateKeeper.’ The story begins with two male characters, the first is Colton Bane, and the other is Kyle Hovey, who is working for an evil corporation called Nightrise.
They are waiting in Reno, outside of a theatre, to kidnap an identical twin brother named Jamie and Scott Tyler. This twin has the special power of reading anyone’s mind and can telepathy with each other.

4] Necropolis (2008)
Necropolis starts with a trip to St Meredith’s Church on which Scarlett Adam’s school tutor group is taken. Scarlett has a vision of Matthew Freeman, who will lead her to the Pentagram door. From there, she is carried to Ukraine, in a monastery, captured by monks who worship the Old Ones.
Matthew Freeman finds out who Scarlett is through a media storm and finally goes to London with his friend.

5] Oblivion (2012)
‘Oblivion’ is the concluding part in ‘The Five Gatekeepers’ series. All four gatekeepers have passed the gate, which took them ten years in time But the last Gatekeeper has yet not arrived.
Jamie Tyler, the main lead in the fifth part of the story, ends up in St. Botolph’s Church in Boston, England, meeting Holly, a villager Scarlett Adams, accompanied by Richard Cole, ends up at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt.Â
They were attacked by the soldiers of the Old Ones, but they were supported by the rebel military of Nexus and took the hospital. All four gatekeepers are accompanied by someone who finishes the battle between the devil ones and the superior power.Â
